China Implements New Vehicle Emission Standards—China VI-b

On 8 May 2023, China issued the “Announcement of Matters Concerning the Implementation of the China VI Emission Standards for Vehicles” (关于实施汽车国六排放标准有关事宜的公告).

Accordingly, from 1 July 2023, China will fully implement the China VI-b emission standards for light-duty vehicles and the China VI-b emission standards for diesel fueled heavy-duty vehicles nationwide.

China will ban the production, import and sale of vehicles that fail to meet the China VI-b emission standards. Vehicle manufacturers and importers must ensure that the vehicles they produce and import meet the requirements.
