Administrative Measures on Internet Electronic Mail Services entered into force on 20 Mar. 2006.
There are 27 articles in total. The Measures aim to regulate activities providing Internet electronic mail services within the territory of China, namely setting up Internet electronic mail servers to enable Internet users to send and receive Internet electronic mails. Key points of the Measures are as follows:
- Where service providers provide Internet electronic mail services, they should obtain value-added telecommunications business licenses or perform the record-filing procedures of non-commercial Internet-based information services according to law.
- Anyone shall not send illegal contents through electronic mail. In case that service providers discover this circumstance, they shall report to relevant State authorities.
