The Community Correction Law was promulgated in 2019 and entered into force on July 1, 2020.

The key points are as follows:
1.A convict who is sentenced to supervision without incarceration, granted probation or parole, or permitted to temporarily serve a sentence outside an incarceration facility shall be subject to community correction according to the law.(Article 2)
2.An execution place for community correction shall be the place of residence of a community correction object.(Article 17)
3.Where a community correction object falls under specific circumstances, with the approval of the person in charge of the county-level judicial administrative department, an electronic locating device may be used.(Article 29)
4.A community correction institution may offer vocational skills training and employment guidance to community correction objects with employment difficulties in accordance with the law, and assist community correction objects that are school students in completing their studies. (Article 37)
