The Administrative Measures for the Network Access of Telecommunications Equipment were promulgated on 10 May 2001, and amended in 2014. The latest version entered into force on 23 Sept. 2014.
There are 39 articles in total, which aim to supervise telecommunications terminal equipment, radio communication equipment and interconnection equipment. The key points are as follows:
- Before accessing the public telecommunications network and being sold in China, the relevant telecommunications equipment must obtain the network access license issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
- The catalogue of telecommunications equipment subject to the network access license system shall be formulated and published by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in conjunction with the Product Quality Supervision Department of the State Council.
