The Development Plan for the New-Generation Artificial Intelligence was issued on 8 July 2017.

The Plan is divided into 6 parts, which aim to achieve the following goals: (1) by 2020, the overall technology and application of China’s artificial intelligence will keep pace with the world’s advanced level; (2) by 2025, the basic theory of China’s artificial intelligence will achieve a significant breakthrough; (3) by 2030, the theory, technology and application of China’s artificial intelligence will generally be world-leading.
