The Administrative Measures for Online Transactions entered into force on 15 Mar. 2014.
There are 58 articles in total, which aim to supervise online commodity transactions, i.e., business activities of selling goods or providing services through the Internet (including the mobile Internet). The key points are as follows:
- The administrative department for industry and commerce at or above the county level are the regulatory authorities of online commodity trading and related services.
- Operators engaged in online commodity trading and related services shall go through the industrial and commercial registration.
- Natural persons engaged in online commodity trading shall carry out business activities through third-party trading platforms and provide authentic identity information.
- Online business operators shall abide by the Law on the Protection of Consumers’ Rights and Interests, the Law on Product Quality, etc.
