Administration Provisions on the Private Network and Targeted Communication Audiovisual Program Services entered into force on 1 June 2016.
There are 32 articles in total. The Provisions aim to regulate service activities that provide radio and TV program and other audio-visual program services through IPTV, private network mobile TV, and Internet TV. Key points of the Provisions include:
- State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (now the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television) is the regulatory authority in the area.
- Where service providers engage in activities in the area, they shall obtain the Licenses for the Dissemination of Audio-visual Programs through Information Network issued by the regulatory authorities.
- Service providers must be state-owned or state-controlled enterprises.
