The Cyberspace Administration of China and its local government counterparts are the regulatory authorities in this field.
The security assessment of new technologies and new applications refers to the activities to determine the assessment rank, and to assess and comment on information security management system and technical safeguards, based on the attribute of news and public opinion and social mobilization ability of new technologies or new applications, as well as the resulting security risk of information content.
Providers of Internet-based news information services shall conduct the security assessment on their own initiative, then report to the regulatory authorities to request a security assessment.
