The Administrative Measures on the Supervision of Online Sales of Medical Devices entered into force on 1 Mar. 2018.

There are 50 articles in total, which aim to supervise the online sales of medical devices and the provision of online trading services of medical devices in China. The key points are as follows:

1. The National Medical Products Administration and its local counterparts are the regulatory authorities in this field.
2. The enterprise selling medical devices on the Internet shall be the registrant or the applicant making the filing, or the manufacturer/business operator of such medical devices.
3. The third-party platform provider of medical device online trading services shall obtain the qualification certificate of Internet-based drug information services according to the law.
