The Administrative Measures on the Telecommunications Business License entered into force on 1 Sept. 2017.
There are 53 articles in total, which aim to clarify the conditions and procedures for application, examination and approval, use and administration of telecommunications business licenses in China. The key points are as follows:
- The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and its local counterparts are the competent authorities, which are in charge of examining and issuing the telecommunications business license.
- The telecommunications business licenses include the Basic Telecommunications Business license and the Value-added Telecommunications Business License.
- The state-owned equity or shares of the operator applying for the basic telecommunications business license shall not be less than 51%.
